I am no authority on paragliding in Sun Valley, although I have flown there a few times.  Best idea is to talk with Chuck or one of his associates at Fly Sun Valley (www.flysunvalley.com ).  Sun Valley is world class paragliding, and indeed the US Paragliding National Championships were held there in August 2006.  Many distance records XC in paragliding have been set from the Sun Valley launch site.  Access most of the year is via the Bald Mountain chairlift.  You will need a membership in Sun Valley Paragliding to get up the lift.  Membership is fifteen or twenty bux for the year, and a chair lift single ride up costs about fifteen bux as I recall.  This is a great site to fly but I do not recommend it for anyone with less than a P-3 rating unless they are under instruction of someone who knows the mountain.  Many P-3's will not be comfortable flying here.  There are mean thermals, rotor, and strong valley winds to contend with.  Landing in the Ski Area parking lot LZ can even be a bit tricky if the wind is up.  Launch is hi-altitude, hi density altitude, and can be subject to thermal rotor conditions also.  Again, call Chuck at Fly Sun Valley before you fly this mountain; you really need to talk to a local pilot first and get the scoop before diving off the hill.  This is a GREAT site for good paraglider pilots who have hi altitude, thermal experience.  There are several good pilots under Chuck's employ and you will see tandem flights almost daily during the warmer months and also much of the winter ski season in the skies over Ketchum.  I am going to post a couple photos here to give you a general idea of what the place looks like... Three gliders are barely visible in this photo taken from the LZ and looking up the chairlift to the top of Bald Mountain.  Launch is right up on top.
